Watershed High School sent six students to the Youth Summit hosted by OutFront MN and the GSA Network. The day was focused on continuing to build a network of powerful, supportive, young leaders and grow the collective capacity to:
take action for justice and equity in our schools and communities so we can all thrive;
develop healthy relationships with ourselves and each other;
challenge and change systems that oppress people based on race, gender, sexual orientation, income, ability, and other aspects of identity.
One Watershed student even presented a workshop to other youth titled Importance of LGBTQ People in the Media. This student received a lot of positive feedback during the workshop as other students could relate to the material and had many things to say about different characters and the roles they play in the media.
